Simile poem

WALT: understand the structure of a simile poem and write our own.

My Nan

My Nan is very proud of herself, she is as proud as a peacock.

My Nan can get very sleepy, she is as sleepy as an old man.

Nana makes everyone laugh, she is as funny as a comedian.

My Nan sleeps very still, she is as sleepy as a log.

Nana gets very happy when we come over, she is as happy as a chipmunk.

My nana always wins prizes, she is as lucky as a 4 leaf clover.

Robot attack narrative

 The robot attack

As the 2 hackers were walking down the abandoned hospital all they saw were flickering lights, smashed windows, loud noises, and mould everywhere. The sun was gleaming through the windows even though it was just about to set.

What was that? Something unusual happened. BOOM !!! It was enormous and shining red all over. You could see the harm in its eyes. It was a robot. The hackers felt anxious they were horrified they couldn't believe what they saw.

The 2 hackers tried to escape but the robot did not let them. The 2 hackers ran straight to their computers, Tap! Tap! Tap! They started hacking. Hoping this was going to get rid of the robot forever.

Water fun day

 Water Fun Day

It was a boiling hot Wednesday and it was sunny too. 3, 2, 1, GO! Splash I slid across the big black tarp.

I was speeding.

I shot like an arrow across the slide.

I was super close to making it to the end.

I wanted to go again but I had to go to the next event.

It was a smaller version of the slide but it was on a hill.

DL Blake VR

WALT: we are learning about how our oceans are being polluted.

On a Tuesday, 2 ladies had a session with my class Te Kauru about the Blake VR programme. The programme is about how we can help stop polluting the waters. We visited a lot of cool places like the 3 Kings Island. We looked at some cool marine reserves and some really dirty waters and rivers.

Toroa Bio poem- Donnie

WALT: Take the information from a non-fiction text to complete a bio poem

Toroa

Precious, Graceful, Solitary, Agile

Lover of their preferred habitat the freezing Southern Ocean.

Who feels extremely threatened by the pollution that is poisoning and killing our sea manu.

Who needs to stay away from the horrifying fishing boats that are rapidly killing the albatross.

Who gave their extremely soft feathers to the Pakeha to turn into warm muffs for their hands.

Who fears the vicious hooks with tempting bait.

Who would like to clack and clapper their bills all day long, disturbing their neighbours.

Who comes from the windy, sunny Tairoa Heads in South Dunedin.
